About the job
- A higher education background in hospitality is expected; prior successful experience in a four-star hotel, through an internship or apprenticeship, is desirable.
- Knowledge of office software, including Outlook, and hotel property-management software, specifically Opera.
- Ability to work proactively, carefully, pleasantly, and collaboratively.
- Listening and attentiveness skills, with clear spoken communication.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Knowledge of check-in and check-out procedures.
- Handle personalized guest check-in and check-out in accordance with internal procedures.
- Manage telephone calls and reservation requests.
- Respond to guest requests and provide quality service throughout their stay to support ongoing guest satisfaction.
- Present loyalty programs to help retain guests.
- Promote the hotel's services to optimize sales.
- Promote the brand or group's loyalty program and adapt sales arguments to guest needs.
- Assign rooms to individual guests, groups, and airline crews, following procedures and special requests.
- Follow invoicing and payment-collection procedures.
- Manage the assigned cash float.
- Keep the work area clean.
- Know and apply hotel safety procedures, including fire-safety procedures.
- Help ensure the safety of property and people.
- Prior successful experience in a four-star hotel through an internship or apprenticeship is desirable.
