Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field is required.
  • Must meet Qualified Professional status according to 10A NCAC 27G .0104.
  • Must have a valid North Carolina Driver's License and reliable transportation for regional travel.
  • Must have 5–7+ years of professional experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities services.
  • Must have 3+ years in a significant supervisory or management role leading clinical and operational teams.
  • Must have deep operational knowledge of NC Innovations Waiver, Alternative Family Living, and Supportive Living regulations.
  • Must be able to manage managers, lead professional clinical staff, and cultivate a positive, growth-oriented culture.
  • Must be able to interpret complex state policies and translate them into streamlined operational procedures.
  • Must have superior verbal and written communication skills for executive reporting, stakeholder presentations, conflict resolution, and budgetary oversight.
Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee all residential programs, including Alternative Family Living, Supportive Living, and Long-Term Care Support, to ensure alignment with North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services standards and state regulations.
  • Formulate and execute long-term strategic initiatives to enhance service delivery, drive agency growth, and sustain the organization's mission.
  • Serve as the final point of accountability for program-specific Individual Support Plans and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Waiver compliance across all residential sites.
  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance management for Qualified Professionals and the Manager of Supportive Living and Facilities.
  • Ensure teams effectively manage caseloads, charting, quarterly goal reviews, and Medical Record Review findings.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and high-level training to maintain a residential leadership pipeline.
  • Partner with executive leadership and the Chief People and Culture Officer to manage departmental budgets, resource allocations, and facilities requirements.
  • Oversee facilities management to guarantee safe, therapeutic, and compliant living environments.
  • Analyze program metrics and clinical outcomes to identify trends, mitigate risks, and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Direct the integration of the Long-Term Care Support framework across all residential divisions to establish a standardized culture of excellence.
  • Oversee comprehensive learning plans and competency-based training, ensuring compliance with required certifications, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid, and state mandates.
  • Lead the department's response to audits, critical incidents, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain survey readiness.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Quality Officer and Supported Living Manager to meet operational standards for annual Medicare and Innovations licensure.
  • Act as a senior liaison between the organization, state regulatory bodies, community partners, and families.
  • Champion systemic improvements in residential care across high-level clinical and professional forums.
  • Support cross-functional operations during peak periods, support data ethics and privacy compliance, and drive employee engagement initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, onboarding, and recognition.
