Requirements
  • Must be able to ski or snowboard at a high level and ski or ride a green-circle trail.
  • Must have high-level knowledge of surrounding mountain ranges, Big Sky Resort mountain terrain, and general resort information.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively throughout the Mountain Services department.
  • Must be able to problem-solve, be proactive, reliable, and remain on their feet for hours at a time.
  • Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in cold and inclement weather for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work five 8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Must be able to lift or handle physical duties including rolling and unrolling 60-pound rubber mats, setting up stanchions, snow removal, and distributing one-pound scuff guards.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist guests as they arrive at the Kircliff and throughout the ski day.
  • Distribute and collect scuff guards.
  • Keep the Kircliff area clean.
  • Remove snow outside the Kircliff building.
  • Share information about Lone Peak, surrounding mountain ranges, ski lifts, mountain terrain, restaurants, amenities, shops, activities, and events.
  • Review and communicate the daily snow report, grooming report, and open or closed runs off the Tram.
  • Facilitate traffic flow through the upper and lower Kircliff terminals.
  • Answer guests’ questions and resolve issues promptly and politely.
  • Rotate among greeter, scuff-guard distribution, information-sharing, and traffic-direction positions.
  • Maintain continuous contact with guests, employees, Mountain Operations, Lift Operations, Ski Patrol, Lift Maintenance, and other resort departments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a guest service environment.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at a high level, as the Tram accesses advanced terrain.
  • Knowledge gained from spending time at Big Sky Resort and the surrounding area.
