Requirements
  • Production-ready software engineering skills, including writing clean and testable code.
  • Real experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or an equivalent agent or orchestration framework.
  • Ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders and debate architecture tradeoffs with senior engineers.
  • Ability to take ownership, identify what needs to be built, and deliver without waiting for tickets.
  • Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous environment where artificial intelligence product requirements and approaches evolve.
  • Ability to work at startup speed in a fast-moving, early-stage environment, including being available and responsive and favoring action.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain artificial-intelligence-driven features and pipelines serving enterprise customers at scale.
  • Architect and implement agent-based workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent orchestration frameworks.
  • Own systems end-to-end from experimentation through production deployment and monitoring.
  • Build and improve evaluation pipelines to measure, validate, and iterate on artificial intelligence system performance.
  • Collaborate with the founding team and cross-functional partners to communicate tradeoffs, progress, and technical decisions.
  • Make pragmatic engineering decisions under ambiguity, and ship, learn, and iterate.
  • Shape the technical direction of the artificial intelligence stack as the company scales.
  • Combine retrieval-augmented generation, graph-based retrieval, and other retrieval approaches into a unified strategy for fetching relevant content.
  • Build agentic workflows that handle edge cases and missing data, reason through unexpected situations, escalate to a human when necessary, and avoid silent failure.
  • Build systematic and reproducible evaluations that predict real-world performance for retrieval-augmented generation and agent workflows.
  • Integrate agents with external platforms, execute workflows, and include human-in-the-loop checkpoints for enterprise trust.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building evaluation pipelines, including designing metrics, running systematic evaluations, and using results to drive iteration on AI systems.
  • Backend software engineering experience building application programming interfaces, services, data infrastructure, or production systems.
  • Exposure to retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, or large language model-powered search and recommendation systems.
  • Experience at early-stage startups or high-growth environments involving multiple responsibilities.

Hilbert provides AI BaaS that uses a structured, data-driven framework to tackle growth challenges for B2C businesses. Its core product, the AI Growth Brain, analyzes client data to generate scheduled and on-demand recommendations aimed at improving metrics across performance marketing, product development, userbase growth, and unit economics. Recommendations can be used within existing systems or via the Hilbert platform. The service is offered on a subscription basis for growth teams and founders, with the Growth Engine Diagnostic tool helping evaluate growth opportunities, making it a comprehensive solution for formalizing and optimizing growth strategies. Distinguishing factors include a systematic framework powered by AI/ML rather than hacks, tailored actions aligned to each client's data and needs, and easy integration. The goal is to help growth teams formalize and optimize their strategies to unlock growth potential.

What believers are saying

  • $28M Series A led by a16z signals strong investor confidence in AI growth agents.
  • $500M valuation post-Series A reflects rapid market traction in structured data labeling.
  • Agentic platform enables consumer firms to co-create scalable growth strategies efficiently.

What critics are saying

  • AI agents generate fake court cases and deepfakes, triggering immediate IP lawsuits.
  • Data labeling groups unsubscribing-risk customers, causing GDPR and CCPA privacy violations.
  • Non-seasonal acquisition volatility makes Hilbert’s forecasts unreliable for B2C scaling.

What makes Hilbert unique

  • Hilbert uniquely structures and labels growth data before analytics for reliable foundations.
  • Hilbert automates data infrastructure using AI agents, replacing manual growth guesswork.
  • Hilbert targets B2C consumer companies, focusing on performance marketing and unit economics.
