Requirements
  • One to two or more years of machining experience.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of grinding, Prototrak conversational milling, CNC milling, or CNC lathe machining.
  • Working knowledge of G and M code programming for CNC mill and CNC lathe roles.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Fine motor skills and close visual attention.
  • Ability to work on-site during the second shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
  • Use of required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate surface and cylindrical grinding machines.
  • Dress and true grinding wheels for optimal cut quality.
  • Hold tight tolerances on hardened and difficult-to-machine materials.
  • Inspect finished parts using micrometers, indicators, and surface comparators.
  • Maintain grinding equipment and coolant systems.
  • Set up and operate Prototrak-controlled milling machines using conversational programming.
  • Program milling operations at the control and edit and troubleshoot existing programs.
  • Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for each job.
  • Perform in-process inspection using precision measurement tools.
  • Set up and operate three-axis and multi-axis CNC machining centers.
  • Write, edit, and troubleshoot G and M code programs.
  • Perform tool offsets, work-coordinate setup, and probing routines.
  • Run first articles and adjust programs to meet print dimensions.
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes, including two-axis and live-tooling configurations.
  • Program lathe operations using G and M code or conversational controls.
  • Manage inserts, boring bars, and tooling selection.
  • Produce lathe parts to tight diameter and length tolerances.
  • Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Set up, program, and operate a variety of machining equipment.
  • Troubleshoot programs and machining processes.
  • Select and manage tooling for optimal performance.
  • Produce parts within tight tolerances and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing callouts.
  • Maintain production documentation, including work orders and time sheets.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow safety guidelines and equipment protocols.
  • Communicate job status, tooling needs, and quality concerns to leadership and team members.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Prototrak conversational controls for milling.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Milltronics, or Okuma controls for CNC roles.
