About the company

Elanco is a global animal health company that develops medicines, vaccines, and preventive care products for livestock and pets. Its products include prescription medicines, vaccines, and parasite-control solutions used by veterinarians, farmers, and pet owners to protect animal health and welfare and improve productivity. After separating from Eli Lilly in 2019, Elanco expanded its scale by acquiring Bayer Animal Health in 2020, which broadened its reach in the companion-animal market and added direct-to-consumer capabilities. Its goal is to advance animal health and welfare worldwide by providing effective, accessible products and services while growing sustainably as a standalone company.

What believers are saying

  • August 5, 2026 Q2 revenue reached $1.368 billion, with 8% organic constant-currency growth.
  • August 26, 2026 Elwood expansion quadrupled mAb capacity, supporting Befrena and Trutect.
  • Elanco raised 2026 innovation revenue to $1.25 billion and targets unconstrained Befrena supply by early 2027.

What critics are saying

  • December 2025 restructuring hit 600 roles and $175 million charges, with closures continuing through 2026.
  • Seventh Circuit affirmed Elanco's securities case on August 14, 2026, keeping disclosure risk alive.
  • Befrena demand is twice expectations; any manufacturing or safety setback would cripple Elanco's biologics thesis.

What makes Elanco unique

  • Elanco owns one of two animal-health monoclonal antibody platforms, centered in Elwood, Kansas.
  • Befrena and Trutect give Elanco proprietary biologics manufacturing control, not outsourced dependence.
  • Elanco spans farm and pet health, unlike narrower companion-animal rivals like Zoetis.

Purdue, Elanco break ground on new One Health Research Institute in Indianapolis. October 15, 2026 INDIANAPOLIS - Purdue University and Elanco Animal Health have broken ground on a new research facility designed to advance health solutions for people, animals, plants and the environment. University, industry and government leaders gathered Tuesday, Oct. 6, to mark the beginning of construction on the One Health Research Institute, part of the developing One Health Innovation District near downtown Indianapolis. The planned 150,000-square-foot facility will feature advanced research laboratories, shared equipment and research infrastructure, business incubator space, collaboration areas and facilities supporting animal health and veterinary partners. Purdue will serve as the institute's academic and research anchor, connecting faculty, students and researchers with industry partners and entrepreneurs. Elanco will contribute its animal health expertise and scientific resources while helping connect research discoveries with the development and commercialization of new solutions. The institute is intended to encourage collaboration across scientific disciplines, recognizing that human, animal, plant and environmental health are interconnected. Purdue Interim President Mitch Daniels said the project supports the university's land-grant mission while expanding its presence in Indianapolis and contributing to Indiana's economic growth. The institute is expected to create opportunities for research partnerships and innovation that could help address complex health challenges.

NOVUS appoints two sales managers in Indonesia.

NOVUS appoints two sales managers in Indonesia. 14 October 2026 NOVUS has appointed veterinarians Hendri Ahadianto and Lucia Simanjuntak as sales managers in Indonesia. Based in Jakarta, they will work with customers across the country on animal health, nutrition and feed-related challenges. NOVUS has expanded its commercial team in Indonesia with the appointment of veterinarians Hendri Ahadianto and Lucia Simanjuntak as sales managers. Based in Jakarta, Ahadianto and Simanjuntak work with customers throughout Indonesia, bringing experience in animal health, nutrition, feed additives, customer relationship management and technical evaluation. According to NOVUS, their expertise strengthens the company's ability to collaborate with feed mills, integrators, nutritionists and producers as poultry, swine and dairy customers navigate changing feed costs, raw-material variability and other production challenges. Simanjuntak's expertise includes poultry nutrition and health, feed additive formulation, intestinal health risk management, and evaluating the technical and economic benefits of nutrition programs. She works with customers to connect feed mill considerations with farm performance through formulation assessment, field trials, performance data and return-on-investment analysis. "What I enjoy most is solving practical customer problems and seeing the results in the field," says Lucia Simanjuntak. "Indonesia's animal agriculture industry faces changing feed ingredients, production pressures and animal health challenges, so continuous learning and strong customer relationships are essential. I look forward to combining technical knowledge with NOVUS resources to help customers develop practical feeding programs that deliver measurable value." Ahadianto brings nearly 20 years of animal health industry experience, with a background in communication, leadership and relationship building. In his role, he combines those skills with business analysis to understand customers' challenges and identify practical options for their operations. "After many years in animal health, joining NOVUS gives me an opportunity to take on a new challenge and expand my experience in animal nutrition," Hendri Ahadianto says. "Building close relationships is important to me. I want to understand each customer's business and work alongside them to find practical solutions to the challenges they face." Rika Riantika, Senior Regional Sales Manager at NOVUS, says the different backgrounds of her two newest colleagues strengthen the support NOVUS can provide customers in Indonesia. "Lucia and Hendri bring valuable but complementary experience to our team," says Riantika. "Hendri's extensive animal health background, business perspective and ability to build strong customer relationships pair well with Lucia's experience in animal health, nutrition solutions and technical evaluation. Together, they strengthen our ability to understand what customers are facing and connect them with the expertise and resources available through NOVUS." Before joining NOVUS, Lucia Simanjuntak served as sales manager for western Indonesia with Huvepharma Animal Health Indonesia. She also served as business manager for western Indonesia with Evonik Indonesia. Simanjuntak earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Hendri Ahadianto previously served as a strategic account manager with Elanco Animal Health. He also held sales and technical roles with Zoetis, Pfizer Animal Health, and Romindo Primavetcom. Bimeda USA expands anti-parasitic line for cattle.

Bimeda USA expands anti-parasitic line for cattle. Moxisolv Pour-On is an FDA-approved bioequivalent option containing 0.5% moxidectin. September 18, 2026 Bimeda is expanding its anti-parasitic portfolio with MoxiSolv Pour-On (moxidectin), initially available in 5 L and 10 L sizes for cattle producers. Bimeda is pleased to announce the expansion of its anti-parasitic portfolio with the addition of MoxiSolv(TM) Pour-On (moxidectin). MoxiSolv Pour-On is the first available Food & Drug Administration-approved, bioequivalent alternative to Cydectin(R) Pour-On (moxidectin) by Elanco and is initially available in 5 L and 10 L sizes for producers. MoxiSolv Pour-On is a ready-to-use topical parasiticide containing 0.5% moxidectin and is labeled for use in beef and dairy cattle of all ages, including lactating dairy cows. It provides treatment and control of gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, cattle grubs, mites, lice and horn flies. Moxidectin pour-on products offer a zero-day milk withdrawal and a short pre-slaughter withdrawal time, giving producers flexibility compared to pour-on products that carry longer withdrawal periods. MoxiSolv Pour-On features a purple dye for visible application and is formulated for consistent pour and absorption across the hide. It is manufactured in the U.S. under strict quality standards and offers producers a trusted bioequivalent option in a familiar pour-on format. A unique benefit of moxidectin is that it is dung-beetle friendly. Healthy dung beetle populations have been shown to play a key role in maintaining soil health in pastures, and they also aid producers' efforts in controlling internal and external parasites. As dung beetles disperse manure, they reduce breeding environments for horn flies and limit further exposure to gastrointestinal nematodes. Dr. Eric Moore, DVM, head of technical services North America at Bimeda, said, "Producers continue to look for parasite control solutions that balance efficacy, safety and environmental stewardship. MoxiSolv Pour-On delivers reliable moxidectin performance in a convenient pour-on format while supporting dung beetle populations that contribute to healthier pastures. It's a product that aligns with both animal health and long-term sustainability goals." Feedstuffs is the news source for animal agriculture
