Responsibilities

• Lead the development and architectural decisions for frontend projects, ensuring code quality and consistency across the team
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend developers to implement new features and improve existing UI/UX
• Work closely with backend engineers to ensure seamless integration and user experience across platforms
• Respond, troubleshoot, and support production systems, performance, reliability, and scalability issues
• Expand logging and error monitoring to triage and resolve issues as they arise
• Refactor components for better composability and maintain global component library to be used across Simplify's products
• Ensure pages are SEO optimized and work with the team to improve search rankings
• Mentor and support junior and intermediate developers through code review & QA, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration
• Stay up to date with modern frontend development tools, workflows, and best practices

Requirements

• Proficient in React, TypeScript and CSS with a strong understanding of modern web development practices
• Experience building high-performance web applications using Next.js or similar modern React framework
• Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g. Redux, Jotai) and modern frontend build tools
• Experience with on-page SEO best practices and performance optimization techniques (e.g., caching, lazy loading, image optimization)
• Familiarity with debugging tools such as Chrome Developer Tools, Query Monitor, and other troubleshooting tools
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Sentry

Desirable

• Strong UX/UI sensibilities and ability to collaborate with design teams
• Experience working with and maintaining monorepos
• Experience with modern analytics platform like Posthog/Amplitude
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and continuous integration
• Familiarity with Docker
• Experience with strict typing/validation libraries (e.g. Zod)
• A passion for improving the broken job search experience
