Required Skills
Python
C/C++
Requirements
  • Robotics state estimation experience: hands-on experience implementing state estimation algorithms such as Kalman filters, optimization-based estimators, or particle filters.
  • Multi-sensor robotics systems: experience estimating vehicle motion by fusing data from multiple robotic sensors.
  • Robotics software development: strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python, ideally within ROS/ROS2 environments.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills: ability to diagnose estimation failures and reason about system-level robotics behavior.
Responsibilities
  • Design state estimation systems: develop robust pipelines that estimate vehicle motion states (velocity, angular velocity, and position) in real time.
  • Multi-sensor fusion: fuse data from sensors such as LiDAR, IMUs, GNSS, and wheel odometry using probabilistic estimation frameworks.
  • Estimator development: implement and maintain filter-based or optimization-based estimators (e.g. EKF, UKF, factor graph methods).
  • System integration and validation: integrate estimation modules with robotics stacks and validate performance using simulation, logs, and real-world testing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or off-road systems (mining, construction, agriculture).
  • Knowledge of SLAM, localization, or factor-graph frameworks (e.g. GTSAM, Ceres).
  • Understanding of vehicle dynamics and control integration.
  • Experience validating robotics systems through simulation and field testing.

Sensmore retrofits heavy machinery such as haul trucks, dumpers, and wheel loaders with its hardware and AI to create autonomous, self-reasoning machines. It is a full-system provider that delivers end-to-end solutions working in real time in harsh environments, using a stack of cameras, 4D radar, and Vision-Language-Action Models (VLAMs). Its modules include Machine Assist for collision alerts and positioning, Site OS for live operational monitoring, and Eye for vision-based quality control, all co-developed with clients to ensure immediate value. Differentiating itself by retrofitting existing fleets with Physical AI rather than building new autonomous machines, Sensmore targets industries like mining and construction to address labor shortages and rising costs, while partnering with customers such as CEMEX and Lhoist to scale across fleets.

What believers are saying

  • $7.3M funding from Point Nine enables expansion to Australia, US, Chile.
  • VLAMs enable self-reasoning robots, reducing downtime by 30%.
  • Addresses labor shortages in mining, construction via client co-development.

What critics are saying

  • Figure AI scales humanoid VLAMs faster, diverting talent in 6-12 months.
  • Caterpillar Minegem locks Rio Tinto fleets, blocking retrofits in 12-18 months.
  • EU AI Act audits delay Site OS deployment by Q3 2026, exhausting runway.

What makes Sensmore unique

  • Sensmore retrofits heavy machinery with VLAMs for untrained complex tasks.
  • Combines cameras, 4D radar, and end-to-end AI for harsh environments.
  • Deploys Site OS and Machine Assist at CEMEX and Lhoist quarries.
