About the job
- Previous mechanical experience with vehicles, trucks, heavy equipment, or similar equipment.
- Strong general mechanical and troubleshooting ability.
- Knowledge of electrical diagnostic procedures.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a two-mechanic maintenance team.
- Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, and construction equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and drivetrain issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
- Repair small engines and auxiliary equipment.
- Assist with occasional field breakdowns.
- Maintain basic maintenance and repair records.
- Work with operations to keep equipment safe, reliable, and ready for use.
- Diesel or heavy-duty truck experience.
- Hydraulic experience.
- Welding or fabrication experience.
- Commercial driver's license.
- Fleet or construction-equipment experience.
