Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have good computer knowledge because the job entails data-entry reports.
  • Must be able to work in a hot, non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Must be able to stand for a 12-hour shift, walk extensively, and climb multiple stairs throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and push, pull, lift from the ground, bend at the knee and waist, and reach above the shoulders.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain working knowledge of the sequential control logic overseeing line operation.
  • Understand the classifications of cores used, including core thickness and core diameter.
  • Know product-roll specifications, including length, weight, and diameter.
  • Use Avanti software to log specific details and product specifications.
  • Monitor running material to identify defects and flag defective sections of jumbo using the proper color code.
  • Operate an overhead crane and vertical wrapper.
  • Change shaft extractors for the core diameters being used.
  • Set, adjust, and replace knives as needed.
  • Set film tension, replace shrink wrap into the carrier, and thread the wrapper.
  • Read and interpret label information and apply labels to rolls.
  • Identify label colors and understand the significance of each type.
  • Use appropriate cardboard side covers for final product rolls.
  • Distinguish between FDA and non-FDA products and follow applicable FDA rules and protocols.
  • Collect standard samples for quality-assurance testing.
  • Add re-feed to machines as needed.
  • Perform manual and automatic rewinder operations.
  • Read, fill out, and understand the operator panel.
  • Know the parts and locations of Celli operating devices, including alarms and the lock system.
  • Initiate emergency stops when necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance procedures.
  • Work across multiple lines as needed.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and use proper personal protective equipment.
  • Keep the workstation clean and organized.
