Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, with at least seven years of Finance, Credit Risk, Underwriting, or Loan Review experience; work experience may substitute for education requirements.
  • Ability to speak and read Spanish is a strong plus, but is not required.
  • Knowledge of ISDA, CSA, CDEA, MRA and GMRA, SLA and MSLA documentation, negotiations, and monitoring for Financial Institutions.
  • Understanding of Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, DVP trading, Repo trading, Structured Finance, SBLC, and Capital Call Facility products.
  • Ability to maintain accurate credit files and folders for internal audits and credit quality control.
  • Ability to handle a potentially high-stress environment with occasional deadline crunches.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial institution credit analysis for U.S. and Latin American entities, including banks, non-bank financial institutions, insurance companies, investment managers and funds, and financial sponsors.
  • Monitor counterparty risk and settlement for trading via the New York Branch and BSI.
  • Coordinate approvals for Global Trade Finance (SBLC, SLC) bookings in New York.
  • Approve counterparty credit limits for onboarding counterparties in New York.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to follow up on monitoring, trading activity, and limit requests.
  • Monitor risk quality and the credit process according to the monitoring and follow-up policy.
  • Provide data to prepare reports on trends and ratios of risk metrics.
  • Analyze risk indicators, including trends, variations, and problems, to minimize losses.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to the Monitoring & Follow-up Committee, the Board, and Spain to support decisions regarding credit quality and ratings.
Desired Qualifications
  • Series 7, 24, or 63 licenses, or similar additional knowledge, are a bonus.
