Quest Diagnostics and Waters partner on at-home cervical cancer screening kit

Quest Diagnostics and Waters Corporation have announced a collaboration to expand access to the Onclarity Self-Collection Kit for cervical cancer screening. Patients collect samples at home, and Quest laboratories process them using the Onclarity HPV assay. The companies aim to widen access to testing for patients who face barriers to screening in clinics. The move supports Quest's push into consumer health testing, a business of roughly $300 million. Quest has a market value of about $26.9 billion. The program is due to enter broader rollout in 2027. Reimbursement pressure remains a risk for the company.

Quest Diagnostics lifts 2026 guidance as Q3 revenue climbs 10%, warns of 1% PAMA hit

Quest Diagnostics reported 10% revenue growth in the third quarter of 2026 and raised its full-year revenue and earnings per share guidance. Growth came from physician, hospital, and consumer channels, and organic volume rose 5% excluding major partnerships. Hospital revenue grew by double digits, helped by the Corewell Health partnership. Consumer health revenue is expected to grow more than 30% this year, as users can now order labs through the Apple Health app. The company expects a 2027 hit of about 1% of revenue from cuts under the Protecting Access to Medicare Act (PAMA), and less than 1.3% cumulatively through 2029. It is backing the RESULTS Act to reform PAMA, and plans to offset part of the impact through efficiency gains. Quest also disclosed a cybersecurity incident at a test ordering system, which it said has not materially disrupted operations.

Quest Diagnostics reports cyber breach affecting 'certain patient records'

Quest Diagnostics reports cyber breach affecting 'certain patient records' by: Associated Press Posted: Oct 22, 2026 / 09:09 AM MDT Updated: Oct 22, 2026 / 09:13 AM MDT CHICAGO (AP) - Medical laboratory operator Quest Diagnostics said it learned of a cyber breach of one of its systems this week, likely compromising some records for patients. In a Thursday regulatory filing, Quest Diagnostics reported "unauthorized access" to its Quanum Lab Services Manager, a platform where certain clients can place test orders and receive or look up their results. The company said it discovered the hack on Wednesday and notified federal law enforcement. How many patients and which particular records have been affected is still unknown. Quest Diagnostics said it believes "certain patient records" were accessed in the breach, but that the full scope remains under investigation. The New Jersey-based company said it's also working with external cybersecurity experts to assist in its response. Quest Diagnostics has seen hacks impacting patient records before. In 2016, for example, the company said data including lab results and contact information of about 34,000 people was exposed in another online breach. And in 2019, other personal information belonging to about 11.9 million Quest patients was affected after a separate hack at American Medical Collection Agency, a billing collections service provider. Cyberattacks are on the rise across industries. Beyond healthcare, other breaches have recently disrupted anything from supermarket chains to core education applications. Governments and companies worldwide are working more broadly on online security updates. Urgency erupted this week, after an AI-assisted discovery of vulnerabilities in a programming language called PHP, which is vital to 70% of websites globally. Outages and limited service have continued for many as firms rush to patch those risks. But based on the company's investigation, Quest Diagnostics confirmed to The Associated Press Thursday that its cyber breach was not related to the PHP issue.
