Requirements
  • A baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field is required.
  • At least one industry-recognized credential is required.
  • Three to five years of experience or service is required to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions and answer questions and resolve problems.
  • A valid New Mexico driver's license, or the ability to readily obtain one, is required for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, prepare, and teach courses; prepare syllabi, assignments, and tests; evaluate and record student performance; counsel, tutor, and mentor students; and provide responsive and substantive interaction on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of program courses and create and approve catalog course dates, times, and descriptions.
  • Direct and organize systematic curriculum and program assessment and evaluation activities according to accreditation and college standards, and initiate changes, additions, or deletions as needed.
  • Identify relevant regional employer partners, enlist their participation in a supporting advisory committee, and conduct advisory committee meetings.
  • Monitor changing needs of employers and students and revise program offerings and program structure as warranted.
  • Coordinate program accreditation functions.
  • Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records, and enter program courses into the learning management system.
  • Supervise the work of program instructors and ensure that instructors have needed materials and resources.
  • Resolve student and staff issues and concerns.
  • Participate in student recruitment activities.
  • Serve as the Emergency Response Coordinator for the School of Energy; develop and update emergency response and continuity of operations plans; and serve as a primary contact in the event of an emergency.
  • Serve on assigned college committees.
  • Perform related duties.
