About the company

IKEA Bulgaria sells furniture, lighting and household accessories to Bulgarian consumers through stores, order centers and an online shop. Its range covers rooms throughout the home, from modular kitchens and wardrobes to beds, sofas and smaller everyday items. Customers buy products directly and can add services such as delivery, assembly and room planning, while collection options connect online orders with physical locations. House Market Bulgaria operates the business within the Fourlis group, and its Bulgarian retail operations began in 2011 with the Sofia store. Its parent Fourlis was founded in 1950 and is headquartered in Kifissia, Greece.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Sofia warehouse benefits include food support: the role lists meal vouchers worth up to EUR102.
  • Fourlis links training to reviews: each employee receives a training plan developed after the annual performance review.
  • Varna sales welcomes beginners: its replacement-cover listing explicitly accepts applicants without previous experience.

What critics are saying

  • Sofia warehouse applicants must accommodate shift work; the advertised workday options are six or eight hours.
  • Varna sales has contract limits: the six-hour listing fills a replacement-cover position.
  • Brand access carries a sales charge: IKEA franchisees pay Inter IKEA an annual fee of 3% of net sales.

What makes IKEA Bulgaria unique

  • The franchise spans borders: Fourlis operates IKEA retail in Bulgaria, Greece and Cyprus.
  • IKEA Family rewards repeat purchases: free members exchange accumulated shopping points for discounts.
  • Business customers widen the market: IKEA Bulgaria markets dedicated furniture ranges for offices, hotels, shops and restaurants.
