Michelin unveils X(R) Multi Energy(TM) D2 regional drive tire. GREENVILLE, S.C., Sept. 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Today Michelin introduced the Michelin X(R) Multi Energy(TM) D2 tire, engineered specifically for the unique demands of regional haul operations. Regional fleets contend with demanding road conditions, frequent stop-and-start driving cycles, and rising fuel costs that can significantly impact performance and profitability. Combining durability, fuel efficiency, and trusted Michelin performance, the X(R) Multi Energy(TM) D2 tire helps fleets maximize productivity while lowering their cost of operation. The casing is designed for up to one million miles and up to four retreads. To help fleets battle fuel costs, the Michelin X(R) Multi Energy(TM) D2 tire improved rolling resistance by 9% from its predecessor[1], the Michelin X(R) Multi Energy(TM) D tire and is 18% better than leading competitors[2]. Varying road conditions can be a real pain point for regional fleets. The Michelin X(R) Multi Energy(TM) D2 tire improved late life traction performance: 10% better wet handling performance[3] and 16% better snow starting traction when worn[4], compared to the Michelin X(R) Multi Energy(TM) D tire. For original equipment manufacturers, the X(R) Multi Energy(TM) D2 tire meets Greenhouse Gas standards, supporting applicable vehicle carbon-reduction requirements. MICHELIN Connected Fleet names new Country Manager. MICHELIN Connected Fleet has appointed Patrick Meade as Country Manager for Australia. Meade previously served as Key Account Manager at MICHELIN Connected Fleet, after spending more than 22 years at MICHELIN in a range of roles, both in Australia and internationally. Meade said he is excited to stop into the role of Country Manager and lead the business' Australian operations.
