Nottingham Trent House (95002), United Kingdom, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire
Design Strategist
About this role
The Design Strategy team is at the heart of driving customer centricity in our business, helping Capital One translate our customer needs into opportunities we can invest in. We work across the organisation as part of cross functional teams, leading a wide range of initiatives from designing new products and services for our customers to cultural transformation and shaping our long term business strategy.
About the team
Design at Capital One is made up of three multi-disciplinary teams. This role is in the Design Strategy team, but you’ll collaborate regularly with our Product Design and in-house Creative Studio teams.
You’ll also be part of a wider outcome team, working closely with Designers, Researchers, Product Managers and Business Analysts to deliver good outcomes for our customers.
What you’ll do
You’ll lead large strategic pieces of work, providing a lens that considers the overarching customer experience, product portfolio, roadmap and business case.
You’ll champion a customer-first culture to drive our customer centricity agenda throughout the business.
You’ll lead and support multi-disciplinary teams through discovery, synthesis, ideation, design and prototyping.
From competitor and market analysis, to consulting and service design, you’ll use human-centred problem solving methodologies to solve complex business problems, enhance user experience and support business growth.
You’ll identify opportunities and manage projects to deliver on customer needs and business priorities.
What we’re looking for
Experience of translating observations into insights playing between strategy, service and/or business design, UX, and research
A visual thinker who is adept at communicating via creative software platforms and/or media
An excellent facilitator, with an ability to bring together different perspectives to get to the right outcome for our customers and our business
Examples of problem solving through design processes where you have helped businesses arrive at successful solutions
Proven ability to navigate ambiguity yet act decisively, and a capacity to coach others through the process
Experience in digital human-centred design, design thinking tools and methods
Project and stakeholder management experience
