  • College coursework in English, Mathematics, Business Administration, or Administrative Management, or equivalent insurance-related coursework and experience, is required.
  • At least two years of administrative experience are required.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Customer service and organizational skills are required.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing workflow while meeting deadlines and goals is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows is required.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills are required.
  • The ability to enter and verify alphanumeric data accurately is required.
  • Applicants must be available to work four days in the office.
Responsibilities
  • Support customer service work and processes for the multifunctional Claims and Operations teams, including check printing, bank deposits, and mail management.
  • Answer general claim inquiries from providers and provide claim-status verification.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure appropriate and timely handling of claims.
  • Support the account management process for the team’s book of business.
  • Compute proper payment for medical bills for non-indemnity and simple indemnity claims directly associated with an accident or activity, using treatment knowledge, injury relationships, and applicable workers’ compensation provisions.
  • Provide administrative support to the Claims Department using word-processing and spreadsheet applications, including lien letters and medical-treatment or event timelines.
  • Ensure payments are made accurately and timely and files are closed according to internal performance standards and applicable state legislation.
  • Adhere to the Employee Code of Ethical Conduct.
  • Complete other duties and special projects as requested.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an insurance environment or knowledge of workers’ compensation laws.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Certification or progress toward certification.
