About the job
- Two or more years of experience.
- Working knowledge of help desk software, databases, remote-control tools, and the fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware, and other equipment.
- Related experience and training in troubleshooting and providing help desk support.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitask environment.
- Ability to track progress and communicate project status regularly to impacted parties.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, maintain meticulous records, and compose statistical reports.
- Ability to work unscheduled hours and occasional weekends.

- Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, by phone, chat, or email.
- Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
- Advise users on appropriate actions and research questions using available information resources.
- Follow up with customers and users to ensure complete issue resolution.
- Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention, redirect problems to the correct resource, track and route problems and requests, and document resolutions.
- Resolve technical problems with local area networks and wide area networks.
- Update training manuals for new and revised software and hardware.
- Stay current with system information, changes, and updates.
- Train computer users as necessary.
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
- Manage IT-related inventory.
- Analyze and identify trends in issue reporting on ticket queues and suggest preventive solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Familiarity with help desk ticket applications, including keeping them up to date and reviewing them at weekly information technology meetings.
- Occasional travel to company offices may be required.
