Imprint.co designs, launches, and manages co-br branded credit card programs for major American brands. The company partners with brands to offer consumers a branded credit card and focuses on increasing the lifetime value of the brands’ customers. Its product works by creating tailored card programs that brands can offer to their customers, aiming to raise the average basket size, shopping frequency, and annual spend per cardholder. Revenue comes from fees charged to partners for building and managing the programs, plus a share of cardholder transaction fees. Imprint differentiates itself through fast program launches (as quick as three months, versus 18 months for traditional issuers), agile development, and white-glove customer service. The goal is to help brands grow loyalty and spending by providing efficient, high-quality co-branded credit card programs.

Imprint Reaches Unicorn Status, Highlighting Resilience in US Fintech Funding

Imprint reaches unicorn status, highlighting resilience in US fintech funding. US-based co-branded card specialist Imprint has joined the ranks of fintech unicorns after closing a major funding round that underscores renewed investor confidence in differentiated payment platforms. Imprint, a US fintech company focused on co-branded credit card and loyalty solutions, has achieved unicorn status following a $150 million Series D funding round that values the company at approximately $1.2 billion. The milestone places Imprint among a select group of high-growth financial technology firms in the United States, the world's largest and most mature fintech market. Founded in 2020 and headquartered in the US, Imprint works with consumer brands to design, launch and manage co-branded credit card programmes using its proprietary issuing and processing platform. Unlike traditional co-brand models that rely heavily on legacy bank infrastructure, Imprint offers brands greater control over customer experience, data and product innovation, positioning cards as long-term loyalty and engagement tools rather than simple payment products. The latest funding round was led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from several established fintech and growth investors, signalling strong conviction in Imprint's business model despite a more selective funding environment. While global fintech investment has cooled significantly from its 2021 peak, the US remains the most active market for fintech capital. The country is home to more fintech unicorns than any other, with well over 150 US-based fintechs having reached billion-dollar valuations over the past decade, spanning payments, lending, banking, crypto and infrastructure. Imprint's rise comes at a time when investors are prioritising fundamentals over rapid expansion. The company has reported triple-digit year-on-year growth in its cardholder base and has attracted well-known brand partners across retail, travel and e-commerce. It has also demonstrated capital markets credibility through a highly rated asset-backed securitisation of its card receivables, a signal of asset quality and operational maturity that resonates strongly with institutional investors. The achievement highlights a broader shift within the US fintech ecosystem. While funding volumes remain below historic highs, capital continues to flow toward companies that can show clear revenue models, strong unit economics and defensible technology. Co-branded cards, in particular, are gaining renewed attention as brands look for deeper customer relationships and diversified revenue streams amid rising customer acquisition costs. By reaching unicorn status, Imprint not only validates its approach to modernising co-branded credit cards but also reinforces the US market's role as a global hub for fintech innovation. As competition intensifies and funding remains disciplined, Imprint's trajectory suggests that well-positioned platforms can still scale rapidly and attract premium valuations, even in a more cautious investment climate.
