Requirements
  • Familiarity with or interest in public health, healthcare, health administration, policy, law, social work, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in health and human services and a desire to make a positive community impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic familiarity with data analysis tools.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn, adaptable, and open to taking on new challenges.
  • A current I-94 form containing a temporary I-551 stamp and photograph may be accepted; Selected candidates must successfully complete an I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form prior to the start of employment.
  • Level I education requirement: High school students with an interest in public health, healthcare, policy, law, social work, or a related field.
  • Level II education requirement: Current community college or university student, interested in public health, healthcare, policy, law, social work, or a related field.
  • Level III education requirement: Current master’s student in public health, health administration, policy, or health sciences.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, and program support.
  • Participate in HHVS Fellowship activities and community outreach.
  • Support meetings, events, and projects across HHVS divisions.
  • Complete a supervised project and present findings.
  • Use Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and SharePoint.
  • Have reliable transportation for work and programming activities.
  • Lead a project and create a presentation summarizing your internship.
  • Level I responsibilities: Provide administrative and programmatic support to HHVS teams.
  • Level I responsibilities: Assist with basic data collection, data entry, and organization of program materials.
  • Level I responsibilities: Support community outreach, educational activities, and public health events.
  • Level I responsibilities: Learn foundational concepts related to local public health operations and health equity.
  • Level I responsibilities: Complete a defined project with guidance from supervisors.
  • Level I responsibilities: Perform additional tasks assigned.
  • Level II responsibilities: Assist with data collection, data management, basic analysis, and reporting.
  • Level II responsibilities: Support development and implementation of health and human services programs, campaigns, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Level II responsibilities: Participate in community outreach and assist in organizing public health events.
  • Level II responsibilities: Collaborate with HHVS teams to support program operations.
  • Level II responsibilities: Complete one primary project culminating in a presentation or written report.
  • Level II responsibilities: Gain exposure to grant requirements, budgeting structures, and compliance processes.
  • Level II responsibilities: Perform additional tasks assigned.
  • Level III responsibilities: Conduct data collection, management, analysis, and reporting for program planning and evaluation.
  • Level III responsibilities: Apply public health theory and data science principles to workflow automation and process improvement.
  • Level III responsibilities: Support design, implementation, and evaluation of health and human services programs.
  • Level III responsibilities: Collaborate across HHVS divisions and with community partners, legislators, and stakeholders.
  • Level III responsibilities: Lead a defined project and produce a final presentation or report with recommendations.
  • Level III responsibilities: Support process improvements to enhance access, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Level III responsibilities: Perform additional tasks assigned.
