  • Real operator experience at scale: You have been accountable for marketing performance as someone with skin in the game at a brand doing meaningful revenue, making budget calls with imperfect data and defending channel spend to a chief financial officer while navigating organizational complexity that affects measurement advice.
  • Measurement literacy: You understand the differences among last click, multi touch attribution, and incrementality testing, and know which method answers which question; you can explain test confidence, null results, and attribution gaps in plain language yet you do not need to build the models, only ensure they translate into actionable insights for an operator.
  • Paid media and channel expertise: Five or more years of running or closely overseeing paid media across Meta, Google, TikTok, or similar platforms at meaningful scale, with knowledge of platform mechanics, attribution windows, reporting gaps, and informed opinions about each platform's strengths and limitations.
  • Omnichannel fluency: You understand marketing across direct to consumer, Amazon, wholesale, and retail simultaneously, and recognize why digital only measurement frameworks may not apply cleanly to brands with offline complexity.
  • Executive level communication: You can lead high stakes discussions with a chief financial officer, chief marketing officer, and media buyer, adjusting depth and framing for each participant while delivering hard news when necessary without harming relationships.
  • Strong differentiators: Direct experience with a brand doing fifty million to five hundred million dollars in revenue, particularly with retail, wholesale, or Amazon complexity on top of direct to consumer; hands on familiarity with multi platform attribution tools such as Triple Whale, Northbeam, or Rockerbox, with well formed opinions on their tradeoffs; experience evaluating incrementality test results (GeoLift, holdout, synthetic control) in contexts where findings informed real budget decisions; comfort operating where the playbook is being built alongside execution.
