Requirements
  • Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, learning management system, and classroom-led instruction.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes.
  • Ability to take direction and learn from feedback.
  • Ability to communicate well with a supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license and acceptable driving history.
  • An associate degree from a college or technical school, or at least one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
  • Work with other technicians within the laboratory to learn calibration fundamentals, including measurement, temperature, and electronics.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques.
  • Maintain calibration standards.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and competency in at least three disciplines, such as dimensional, electrical, torque, temperature, and pressure.
  • Perform calibration work within a laboratory setting and/or while supervised at a customer on-site.
  • Fulfill duties safely under working conditions in keeping with company requirements and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel 25–50% of the work schedule.
  • Learn fundamental calibration skills and techniques.
  • Develop the skills necessary to perform calibrations independently.
  • Develop the skills necessary to advance to Calibration Technician II, including working knowledge and competency in at least four disciplines and expert competency in one discipline.
  • Deliver on Transcat's Quality Policy (QAC-F01-001).
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience or training in electronics or machining.
  • Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics.
