Requirements
- Proven experience as an LPN or in a similar role.
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with hospital health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures.
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
- Knowledge of medical and hospital terminology.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and data entry.
- Physical stamina to perform the role.
- Successful completion of an LPN license program.
- LPN certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Record patients’ medical histories accurately.
- Take and record measurements such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
- Observe patients under treatment to identify progress and medication side effects.
- Monitor patients’ conditions, including fluid intake and output, and compose patient charts.
- Assist patients with necessary daily activities such as eating and bathing.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, and enemas; clean and dress wounds; and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
- Collect samples for laboratory testing as assigned.
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
- Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort, and release instructions.
Desired Qualifications
- LVN license/certification is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
