Chick-fil-A coming to Toms River after Planning Board approves new restaurant at Ocean County Mall.

Chick-fil-A coming to Toms River after Planning Board approves new restaurant at Ocean County Mall. The former Bahama Breeze restaurant at Ocean County Mall in Toms River is slated for demolition to make way for a new Chick-fil-A restaurant with drive-thru service. The former Bahama Breeze restaurant near Hooper and Bay avenues will be demolished to make way for Toms River's first Chick-fil-A, following township approval of the project. TOMS RIVER, NJ - Chick-fil-A is officially moving forward with plans to open its first restaurant in Toms River, replacing the former Bahama Breeze at Ocean County Mall with a new standalone restaurant featuring drive-thru service. The Toms River Planning Board approved the project on October 7, clearing a major local regulatory hurdle for the popular chicken sandwich chain. As Shore News Network previously reported in August, the company submitted plans to demolish the vacant Bahama Breeze building and construct a new restaurant at the mall's southern perimeter, near Hooper and Bay Avenues. The Ocean County Planning Board had already approved the proposal in July. Former Bahama Breeze building to be demolished. The project calls for demolishing the approximately 7,373-square-foot former Bahama Breeze restaurant rather than converting the existing building. Plans include a new Chick-fil-A restaurant with a drive-thru, parking facilities, outdoor lighting, signage, landscaping and covered ordering areas. The redevelopment will transform a vacant restaurant property at one of Ocean County's busiest shopping destinations, the Ocean County Mall. The application included several requested zoning variances and design waivers related to building setbacks, signs, parking and landscaping. First Chick-fil-A restaurant in Toms River. The new location will be Chick-fil-A's first restaurant within Toms River Township. The chain already operates Ocean County locations in Brick Township on Route 70 and Stafford Township in the Manahawkin area. Once completed, the Toms River restaurant would become the company's third location in the county. When will Chick-fil-A open? Although the Planning Board has approved the development, Chick-fil-A has not announced an official opening date for the Toms River restaurant. Construction will require demolition of the former Bahama Breeze building and development of the new restaurant before operations can begin.

BREAKING: Chick-fil-A's first new sauce in 10 years sparks skepticism.

BREAKING: Chick-fil-A's first new sauce in 10 years sparks skepticism. Chick-fil-A unveils new sauce. Chick-fil-A has announced the release of its first new permanent sauce in a decade, the Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce, set to launch on November 16, 2026. This new offering aims to blend the chain's signature flavor with a kick of heat, combining smoky tang, spicy peppers, and a hint of sweetness that the company believes will appeal to its diverse customer base. Customer reactions and skepticism. While many fans are excited about the addition, a wave of skepticism has emerged among the chain's loyal customers. Social media platforms have been flooded with mixed reactions, with some expressing enthusiasm for the new flavor while others are questioning whether it can live up to Chick-fil-A's high standards. One Twitter user remarked, "Can anything top the original?" highlighting the fear that the new sauce may not resonate with those who have long favored the classic Chick-fil-A Sauce. Additionally, some critics are concerned about the implications of the chain introducing a new sauce after such a long hiatus. Is it a response to changing consumer preferences, or simply a marketing strategy to reignite interest in the brand? The skepticism reflects a deeper concern about the balance between innovation and tradition in fast-food offerings. Why it matters. The introduction of the Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce comes at a crucial time for the fast-food industry. As chains compete for market share, introducing new items is often a key strategy to attract customers and boost sales. Chick-fil-A, known for its cult following and dedicated fanbase, is taking a calculated risk by adding a new sauce to its menu that could either enhance its reputation or face backlash from its loyal customers. What's Next for Chick-fil-A? As the launch date approaches, Chick-fil-A is likely to ramp up its marketing efforts to promote the Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce. The company has a history of successful product introductions, which suggests that they are taking consumer feedback seriously. However, the skepticism from fans may prompt Chick-fil-A to engage more directly with its customers, potentially through taste tests or social media interactions to gauge reactions and build excitement. The success of the new sauce could also influence the chain's future product development strategies. If the Spicy Chick-fil-A Sauce is well-received, it may pave the way for more innovative offerings in the future, allowing Chick-fil-A to evolve while maintaining its core identity.

Chick-fil-A hits $24B in sales as the family-owned chicken chain expands to the UK and Singapore

Chick-fil-A, the third-largest restaurant chain in the US behind McDonald's and Starbucks, reported nearly $24 billion in sales last year. The family-owned company has around 3,000 locations and recently expanded to the UK and Singapore. Truett and Ben Cathy opened a diner, the Dwarf Grill, in Hapeville, Georgia, in 1946. The first Chick-fil-A opened in 1967, built around a chicken sandwich whose recipe chief executive officer Andrew Cathy, Truett's grandson, says is unchanged. The company has stayed private for 60 years and plans to remain so. It is closed on Sundays, a choice rooted in the family's Christian faith. With consumer prices up 3.4% and wages up 3%, Cathy says Chick-fil-A is wary of raising prices. A standard sandwich costs $4.99 at a Dallas outlet, against $3.99 for a McDonald's McCrispy nearby.
