Requirements
  • Create 3D CAD designs and develop engineering drawings, with Siemens NX preferred.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Perform engineering calculations.
  • Communicate and present effectively in verbal and written forms.
  • Maintain current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher and complete a government background investigation if required.
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree and have 3+ years of relevant experience for the Advanced Professional level, or 6+ years of relevant experience for the Senior Professional level, with an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
  • Be eligible to obtain a government security clearance, participate in the ARL drug testing program, and comply with electronic and physical monitoring requirements applicable to federal contractors.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and test mechanical hardware for undersea applications.
  • Work with engineers throughout the product lifecycle to create 3D models and associated drawings, perform basic engineering calculations, develop electromechanical systems, procure necessary hardware, and assemble and test hardware and systems.
  • Create 3D models in Siemens NX.
  • Create detailed drawings of components and assemblies.
  • Perform tolerance stacks and apply appropriate tolerancing and GD&T.
  • Collaborate with project leadership on the conceptual design of complex electromechanical systems and subsystems.
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to develop, define, and derive requirements supporting the design of engineering products.
  • Develop assembly and test procedures.
  • Assemble and test hardware.
  • Support field testing.
  • Work independently on moderately complex assignments, review progress, and evaluate results at higher professional levels.
  • Present ideas, concepts, and instructions clearly and persuasively to internal and external audiences at higher professional levels.
  • Develop and apply new techniques, concepts, and approaches to moderately complex and strategic or operational issues at higher professional levels.
  • Review others' work for accuracy and conformance to required procedures and special instructions at higher professional levels.
  • Delegate and oversee lower-level tasking at higher professional levels.
