Responsibilities
  • Own patient cases from initiation to closure, including benefit investigations, prior authorizations, denial appeals, determining financial qualifications for assistance programs, and assisting patients or other callers and stakeholders through resolution.
  • Build trusted relationships with patients, prescribers, and client stakeholders through proactive communication and timely, accurate execution of deliverables.
  • Manage relationships in accordance with healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Perform program welcome calls to patients.
  • Perform post-benefits-investigation calls to patients and physicians to explain coverage options.
  • Manage client inquiries that cannot be determined by the client through reporting.
  • Manage healthcare-provider inquiries pursuant to business rules.
  • Manage inbound calls according to program-approved frequently asked questions.
  • Triage patients to internal or external resources as appropriate.
  • Provide personalized case management to patients and healthcare providers, including outbound communication about benefit coverage and next steps in obtaining coverage.
  • Use electronic tools to identify benefits and payer coverage, and complete manual benefit investigations as needed.
  • Identify and communicate patient plan benefit coverage, including the need for prior authorization, appeal, tier exception, or formulary exclusion.
  • Use electronic resources to obtain benefit coverage outcomes and call payers and healthcare providers when needed to follow up on proper submission or outcomes.
  • Coordinate nurse teaching with field-based nurse educators, as applicable to the program.
  • Support adherence services through coordination of nurse follow-up, as applicable to the program.
  • Identify peer-support resources for patients.
  • Coordinate product shipment through patient assistance or bridge programs from the pharmacy.
  • Communicate proactively about prior-authorization reverification or patient-assistance-program re-enrollment needs.
  • Report adverse events, product complaints, special-situation reports, and medical inquiries in accordance with standard operating procedures and business rules.
  • Document all activities in the PharmaCord Lynk system in accordance with business requirements.
  • Complete training deadlines for corporate policies and procedures.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures consistently.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks or projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Customer service and healthcare industry experience is preferred but not required.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
  • Candidates who can type at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy are preferred.
