About the job

Requirements
  • Significant software engineering experience, with a track record of designing and shipping production systems.
  • Recent hands-on experience building with large language models, artificial intelligence application programming interfaces, agents, or automation platforms.
  • Proven experience shipping artificial-intelligence-powered systems, internal tools, or automation workflows that real teams use in production.
  • Strong programming and systems engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with modern large language model development patterns, including tool/function calling, agentic workflows, model integration, evaluation, and orchestration.
  • Experience integrating application programming interfaces, third-party platforms, and cloud-based systems.
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, analytics, and using data to power automated decisions or reporting.
  • Ability to design reusable systems for reliability and scale rather than one-off prototypes.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous problems across product, design, art, user acquisition, quality assurance, and operations into technical solutions.
  • Strong judgment around build versus buy, model selection, performance, reliability, security, and cost.
  • Comfort working in a rapidly changing technical environment where tools and models evolve quickly.
  • High ownership: identify problems, make decisions, build, and ship without waiting for perfect information.
Responsibilities
  • Own the technical architecture for artificial intelligence and automation across Internal Games, establishing shared infrastructure, patterns, and engineering standards.
  • Build artificial intelligence agents, tools, and automated workflows across the game production lifecycle, from opportunity research and prototyping through creative production, quality assurance, launch testing, and live operations.
  • Design reusable systems that enable teams to move from idea to prototype, test, and launch significantly faster.
  • Integrate external artificial intelligence and large language model models and application programming interfaces, such as Claude Code, MCP servers, and Cursor, with the development environment, Unity pipelines, and internal tools.
  • Build artificial-intelligence-powered analysis and reporting tools that turn game, production, and user acquisition data into actionable insights.
  • Create systems for monitoring workflow health and identifying bottlenecks, failures, and data gaps before they slow production.
  • Partner with Product Builders, Producers, user acquisition, Creative, quality assurance, and Game Operations to identify high-impact manual work and automate it.
  • Develop artificial-intelligence-assisted workflows within Unity and other development environments where they create meaningful production leverage.
  • Rapidly evaluate new models, tools, and approaches, adopting what creates measurable advantage and retiring what does not.
  • Improve the reliability, observability, scalability, and cost efficiency of artificial intelligence systems as usage grows.
  • Establish practical guardrails around data access, security, quality, evaluation, and human review.
  • Act as the senior technical voice for applied artificial intelligence within the studio, mentoring engineers and enabling technical and non-technical teams to use artificial intelligence effectively.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Unity and C#.
  • Experience building tools or infrastructure for game development.
  • Mobile gaming or other fast-iteration consumer product experience.
  • Familiarity with free-to-play metrics, including retention, engagement, cost per install, monetization, and lifetime value.

About the company

UserWise Services builds high-performance external teams for game studios to move fast, scale intelligently, and operate for the long term. They focus on new game development, LiveOps, growth, maintenance, and portfolio-level product execution, embedding teams that act like internal staff. How it works: their teams take ownership and run production and LiveOps using a proprietary AI-powered toolset that accelerates design, content creation, LiveOps execution, and decision-making as part of daily workflows. The company differentiates itself through a distributed, senior-leaning workforce and tools that reduce friction across design, art, engineering, data, and LiveOps, enabling decisions grounded in player impact. Their goal is to help partners grow games to large, sustainable outcomes, already supporting studios managing $100M+ in annual revenue across portfolios, with operations across the US and EU.

What believers are saying

  • ClariMed opened Cambridge and expanded UK facilities in February 2025, signaling growth.
  • ClariMed acquired We Are Human in August 2025, expanding UserWise-adjacent research coverage.
  • ClariMed added software, AI/ML, and cybersecurity leadership in 2026, broadening cross-sell opportunities.

What critics are saying

  • UserWise is now subsumed under ClariMed, ending standalone employer autonomy after August 2022.
  • ClariMed's 2025-2026 acquisitions shift priorities toward bigger platform integration, not UserWise branding.
  • MedTech services depend on regulated-device budgets; contract delays hit consulting utilization within one quarter.

What makes UserWise Services unique

  • Acquired by ClariMed in 2023, UserWise anchors integrated MedTech human-factors services.
  • UserWise built usability engineering, recruitment, simulation, and IRB capabilities for medical devices.
  • ClariMed says UserWise supports FDA-linked research and educational seminars in human factors.
