Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of physical and financial energy market fundamentals and traded instruments, ideally power and gas.
  • Excellent knowledge of risk management methods and techniques, including Value at Risk, stress testing, and option pricing.
  • Experience managing junior resources.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to articulate complex deals and provide constructive advice to the Head of Market Risk and Front Office.
  • Proficiency in booking systems such as Endur and EOS is desirable.
  • Practical experience in Power BI, Python, and SQL.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence, resilience, and determination to succeed in a dynamic and demanding business environment.
  • Proactive approach and drive for continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
Responsibilities
  • Lead market-risk oversight of one energy-trading desk and execute market-risk management strategies across gas, power, and renewables.
  • Promote risk discussion on the trading floor and build best practices within the team.
  • Maintain and share strong knowledge of trading portfolios and monitor energy-market developments and their potential impact on risk and portfolios.
  • Quantitatively analyse new deals and identify embedded risks using simulation-based modelling and other methods.
  • Work with relevant business teams to formulate new business and product frameworks and integrate changes into current policies, processes, and systems.
  • Deliver improvements to market-risk processes, models, and methodologies, including Value at Risk, stress testing, and assessment of risk-adjusted return.
  • Support the digitisation of Market Risk at Centrica Energy.

G&H has secured two new decarbonisation contracts with Centrica Business Solutions (Image: Supplied) NEW hospital energy projects are on the horizon. Leeds-headquartered mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) services provider G&H has secured two new decarbonisation contracts with Centrica Business Solutions, marking the latest step in a long-standing partnership focused on delivering greener infrastructure. Under the new contracts, G&H will carry out MEP works at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham and Hereford County Hospital in Hereford. Richard Tandy, head of projects at Centrica Business Solutions, said: "Clayton Pc is committed to delivering scalable bespoke energy solutions that allow organisations to reach their sustainability goals, as well as reducing their overall energy costs. "G&H's mechanical and electrical expertise, combined with Centrica Business Solutions' capabilities in large-scale onsite, behind-the-meter energy solutions, will enable these organisations to progress towards a greener, fairer future."
