Requirements
- A high school diploma is required.
- Certification through an accredited State of Colorado training course for Certified Nurse Assistants is required.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is required.
- Knowledge of relevant nursing care is required.
- Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills are required.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees, and administration is required.
- Annual flu vaccination and job-specific immunizations are required.
- Tuberculosis testing or screening is required.
- A Certified Nurse Assistant license is required.
- Basic Life Support certification is required and can be obtained onsite.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for hospital and extended care unit patients according to resident care plans.
- Participate in admitting and discharging patients.
- Document care provided through the established electronic health record.
- Encourage and assist patients and residents to be as independent as possible.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous work experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant is preferred.
- Previous experience with geriatric patients is preferred.
