About the Facilities and Critical Systems Engineer Internship
The Facilities and Critical Systems Engineer Internship is a comprehensive 10-week program designed for rising seniors with an interest in Facilities and Critical Systems Engineering. This internship provides a broad range of responsibilities, extensive training opportunities, and exposure to internal departments and external vendors. As an intern, you’ll assist in managing and enhancing our critical infrastructure systems, such as data centers and building management tools, applying your academic knowledge to practical scenarios and contributing to strategic decisions. This is a valuable experience that will give you a glimpse into the workings of a complex global firm.
As an intern with us, you will gain exposure to a variety of activities, which may include:
- Participation in the design and implementation of new facilities projects, including data center expansion/upgrades
- Supporting the assessment and mitigation of risks associated with critical systems
- Participation in emergency response and recovery activities related to facilities and critical systems
- Assistance in managing and maintaining critical systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems
- Supporting the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs
- Helping ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Assisting with procurement process as it relates to services required for maintaining and operating critical environments
- Liaising with various internal departments and external vendors/contractors/consultants we collaborate with regularly
Summer Internship Program at Point72
In addition to the learning and development you’ll receive in your day-to-day role with your team, as a part of our summer internship program you will:
- Work alongside your fellow interns and be mentored by experienced professionals
- Meet your peers through designated intern programming, volunteer opportunities, and social events
- Attend sessions with senior leaders discussing their expertise and career paths
- Get hands-on access to best-in-class tools and resources
- Gain exposure to groups and functions with unique responsibilities and perspectives on our industry
- Develop technical, writing, and presentation skills
What’s required
Every day is different in our group, and you’ll need to be open to taking on a wide variety of projects and responsibilities. You’ll also need:
- Must be able to work on-site as required, with potential occasional travel between our offices in New York City and Stamford, CT
- Expected bachelor’s degree in Spring 2025, Fall 2025, or Spring 2026
- Demonstration of previous course work in MIS systems
- Familiarity and/or ability to learn facilities related software programs.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical, verbal communication, and technical skills
- Commitment to the highest ethical standards

The annual base salary is $66,500 (USD) which will be prorated based on internship start and end date; this does not include overtime compensation. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
