- Lead elements of design, production, coordination, and architectural detailing as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Lead and assist in coordinating engineering systems with engineers and consultants.
- Partner with Design Leadership to carry through design intent.
- Coordinate with team members on project assignments and documents.
- Prepare design sketches of moderate to complex site plans.
- Communicate project status, design intent, construction updates, and other critical information to owners, consultants, and clients.
- Participate in business development activities and partner with Marketing and Office Leadership to help grow revenue.
- Perform field site observations, including physical walk-throughs of sites.
- Integrate performance-based and sustainable design strategies into design solutions whenever possible.
- Implement the CannonDesign Method, including process expectations, best practices, reference standards, tools, templates, and technology, to achieve service delivery, quality, productivity, and profitability goals.
- Create an environment that supports design and technical excellence.
- Provoke critical thinking and critique work, and identify and share lessons learned with teams.
- Provide guidance to interns and mentor less experienced team members.
- Enforce quality assurance and quality control process standards and requirements while ensuring statutory project requirements are achieved.

Skyline Glass fabricates feature wall for Cancer Center. September 15, 2026 Skyline Glass partnered with CannonDesign to fabricate a floor-to-ceiling donor recognition feature wall for the Irma and Norman Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center, a new cancer care facility overlooking Biscayne Bay in Miami Beach, Florida. Project details. Inspired by the colors and atmosphere of the waterfront setting, the installation transforms a functional donor recognition element into a signature architectural feature within the lobby. The project showcases the integration of four decorative glass processes within a single wall system, all executed at Skyline's Chicago manufacturing facility. The custom installation combines a color-matched digital gradient, eco-etch patterning from Skyline's design library, back-painting for opacity, and laminated construction. Together, these processes create a layered visual experience that complements the center's contemporary seaside aesthetic while supporting both donor recognition and wayfinding. "Projects like Braman demonstrate what's possible when multiple decorative glass disciplines are brought together under one roof," says Mark Toth, national sales director, Skyline Glass. "By coordinating digital printing, etching, back-painting, and lamination as a single fabrication process, we're able to help designers realize concepts that would be difficult to achieve through fragmented production." The digitally printed gradient establishes the custom color palette, while the etched pattern introduces texture and visual depth across the glass surface. Back-painting provides the opacity required for wall cladding applications, and lamination protects the decorative layers while enhancing durability for a demanding healthcare environment. Skyline fabricated the feature wall as a fully integrated glass system and installed the panels using the company's Vector Glass System. Ben Bassin, MD, named Physician Executive in Residence, Innovation. September 8, 2026 CannonDesign is excited to share that Ben Bassin, MD, FACEP, EDAC, has been officially named its company's inaugural Physician Executive in Residence, Innovation. Dr. Bassin is now officially part of its Incubate & Launch convergence platform, focused on advancing its research and innovation goals. In this role, he will be a firmwide resource, available to impact every market, practice and initiative across the company. It has been three years since Dr. Bassin originally joined CannonDesign as the firm's first-ever innovation fellow. While originally part of Blue Cottage of CannonDesign, he quickly found ways to forge positive impact across all of CannonDesign, with a distinct focus on healthcare and Amp, its firm's in-house innovation engine. * Every day I'm inspired by the intelligence and creative willpower that exists across CannonDesign. Mirjana Munetic named Senior Design Leader in West Region. August 27, 2026 Mirjana Munetic has joined CannonDesign as a Senior Design Leader based in its Portland office. Mirjana brings more than 25 years of experience in design and project leadership to its team. She has spent her career working across a variety of markets and typologies, from higher education to behavioral health clinics, professional sports training facilities and more. With a focus on interior design, she will continue to work across markets as she pushes its design capabilities forward. "Mirjana is the kind of designer who elevates the aspirations of everyone around her," said Kevin Nyhoff, Design Director for the West Region. In this strategic leadership role, Rob Masters, AIA, ACHA, EDAC, CLGB, LEED AP, now leads the firm's global healthcare planning team, focused on the integration of clinical excellence, visionary design and strategic consulting integration into the built environment to solve the most complex challenges facing healthcare providers today. A recognized thought leader and subject matter expert, Rob has been a vital part of the CannonDesign team for over 13 years. Since joining the firm, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to delivering transformational work for world-class health systems, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Cleveland Clinic and NewYork-Presbyterian. He is also active in national committee roles that shape the industry, including the Facilities Guidelines Institute, FGI Health Guidelines Revisions Committee; the AIA Academy of Architecture for Health, Codes & Standards Committee; and the Center for Health Design, Environmental Standards Council.
