Requirements
  • A 2-year college degree or equivalent education/experience is required.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology is required.
  • An Ohio radiation therapy license through the Ohio Department of Health is required.
  • At least 5 years of radiation therapy experience is required.
  • The employee must meet mandatory education and health surveillance requirements.
  • The employee must demonstrate competence in the technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to perform essential job functions.
  • The employee must maintain registration and licensure through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the Ohio Department of Health.
Responsibilities
  • Perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures involving X-rays and radioactive substances for patient simulation and treatment of malignancies and pain.
  • Accurately deliver prescribed and planned courses of radiation therapy to patients.
  • Assist with treatment planning and maintain standards established by the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Reinforce patient advice and monitor patients for unusual reactions and events.
  • Observe radiation safety measures for patients and staff.
  • Perform quality assessment activities for the Department of Radiation Oncology.
  • Provide patient education.
  • Participate in clinical education and clinical projects supporting the Medical Center's education and research missions.
  • Provide education, training, oversight, and supervision to radiation therapy students as directed by the Radiation Therapy Manager.
  • Provide daily operations oversight for the assigned location.
  • Manage scheduling and workload for the assigned location.
  • Conduct peer evaluations and provide general oversight of the assigned location.
