Job Description:

Withum’s Tax Services Group is made up of a brilliant team of tax specialists that work to ensure tax reporting obligations are met in an accurate and timely manner and minimize or defer the payment of taxes. Their comprehensive understanding of international, US federal, state, and local regulations, counting our affiliation with HLB international, allows them to help develop economical tax strategies anywhere. Their services include Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, as well as International and Private Client services.

As a CorporateTax Senior based out of our Red Bank, NJ office, you'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements, supervise/mentor staff, and build/maintain relationships with clients.

How You’ll Spend Your Time: 

• Preparing and reviewing income tax accounting calculations and related workpapers in accordance with ASC 740
• Assisting in the preparation of tax provisions for a diverse client base, including startup and middle-market companies across various industries
• Supporting clients with key tax accounting matters, including effective tax rate analyses, valuation allowance assessments, deferred tax calculations, provision-to-return adjustments, uncertain tax positions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Preparing audit-ready tax provision workpapers and documentation that support financial statement audits and comply with ASC 740 requirements
• Collaborating with managers and partners to address technical tax accounting issues and communicate findings to clients
• Serving as a day-to-day contact for clients, responding to inquiries and helping ensure timely delivery of engagements
• Participating in discussions with client personnel and external auditors to support the tax provision and financial reporting process.
• Assisting with corporate tax compliance engagements and other tax consulting projects as needed
• Identifying potential issues and communicating them proactively to engagement leadership
• Contributing ideas to improve processes, enhance service delivery, and provide additional value to clients
• Mentoring and assisting associates in the development of their technical and professional skills

 The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA license, JD, or Master's degree in Taxation preferred or in progress
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting with a focus on corporate tax and tax accounting under ASC 740
• Experience preparing and reviewing income tax provisions and related tax accounting workpapers
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and corporate income tax concepts
• Exposure to ASC 740, deferred tax accounting, and income tax disclosures
• SEC experience preferred
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and client service skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and project management capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with team members and provide guidance to junior staff
• Ability to travel as needed (<10%)

The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 – $100,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
