Requirements
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • One to three years related experience and/or training
  • Maintains knowledge, skills and abilities through ongoing education.
  • Completes all mandatory reviews/educational required and assigned.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.

  • Retains all accreditations, licensures and designations in good standing.
  • Maintains compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements. Acts promptly to comply with required changes.
  • Current unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or compact state
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
  • Explains procedures and treatments to patient before and after endoscopic procedures to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
  • Maintains awareness of the clinical environment and adheres to all infection control policies in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Adheres to best-practices and standards of care related to patient care.
  • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
  • Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
  • Communicates the patient’s current status to the appropriate parties throughout the continuum of care
  • Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attaining outcomes
  • Maintains required competencies
  • Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
  • Documents all patient care provided in patient records in accordance with legal and medical standards.
  • Follow and comply with all safety policies.
  • Additional duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility.
