About the job
- A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential is required.
- At least 2 years of property field adjusting experience is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
- An insurance license is required.
- Possession of other state licenses is required as directed by management.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
- The ability to multitask is required.
- Computer proficiency is required.
- Basic calculator skills are required.
- Working knowledge of ISO policies is required.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- The ability to climb ladders to inspect roofs and carry a 40-pound ladder is required.
- Manage, investigate, and resolve assigned property claims.
- Provide policyholders with fair and timely claim resolutions, understand their needs, and advise them on appropriate solutions.
- Communicate with independent adjusters and other experts to gather claim information.
- Negotiate and explain settlements with insureds and their representatives.
- Answer incoming calls from agents, public adjusters, insureds, and other vendors.
- Review and analyze written information.
- Apply knowledge of multiple policy forms.
- Prepare reports based on policy language.
- Prepare detailed damage estimates.
- Use estimating software and write property estimates using Xactimate or related software.
- Rely on training and management guidance to plan and accomplish goals.
- Support catastrophe operations, including working extended hours during designated catastrophes.
- Bilingual ability is preferred.
