What believers are saying

  • Miami-Dade awarded EXP 33 resiliency assessments on September 8, 2026, covering 1,741 housing units.
  • Miami International Airport selected EXP on August 24, 2026 for 125 mechanical-electrical room upgrades.
  • EXP joined MicroNuclear on September 18, 2026 and ranks No. 10 on CSE MEP Giants.

What critics are saying

  • Project revenue depends on procurement cycles at Miami-Dade, Montréal-Trudeau, and CTA, delaying backlog conversion.
  • Public-sector and aviation work demands flawless execution; one defect claim can crush margins quickly.
  • Talent retention remains vulnerable; competitors like AECOM, WSP, and Jacobs constantly poach specialized engineers.

EXP wins two Illumination Awards of Merit for exceptional interior lighting design.

EXP wins two Illumination Awards of Merit for exceptional interior lighting design. October 26, 2026 The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) recently held its 53rd Annual Illumination Awards program. EXP's lighting design team was recognized twice with Awards of Merit in the "Illumination Award for Interior Lighting Design" category for their work on the Body Odyssey exhibit and Pier Sixty-Six hotel. Body Odyssey is an exhibit at The Franklin Institute, a historic museum in Philadelphia, PA. It demonstrates the inner workings of the human body and emphasizes the essential connection between mental and physical health. Its designers reused portions of the existing electrical lighting infrastructure and installed a theatrical DMX-based control system for additional experiential elements and dynamic effects. EXP's lighting design across the exhibit plays an important role in illuminating and showcasing the newly renovated Giant Herat, perhaps the most famous and popular exhibit in the museum. Built in 1953, this structure now features synchronized sensory technology - LED linear lighting changes colors and mimics visitors' heartbeats to represent a healthy, functioning circulatory system. This immersive, interactive display provides guests with a unique way to learn and explore. EXP also won an Award of Merit for services provided on Pier Sixty-Six, a coastal resort in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The site was redeveloped by Tavistock Development Company in coordination with the local historic preservation committee. The 325-key hotel is home to 12 restaurants and lounges, 43,000 sq ft of meeting and ballroom space, a 13,000 sq ft spa and the iconic 17th story Pier Top restaurant. Its design fused modern influences with mid-century roots to create a warm, elegant atmosphere where guests can relax and connect. Its team implemented an integrated networked lighting control system that operates across the site and all buildings. This intelligent infrastructure allows the environment to evolve throughout the day, transitioning the intensity and color of light to support both the guest experience and operational needs. The system can be monitored and managed property-wide, providing greater operational efficiency while supporting energy use reduction, maintenance and troubleshooting. "Both projects approached lighting through the lens of storytelling and the guest experience, but with two very different end goals," Principal Kate Sanoke, IALD, LC, LEED AP said. "In each, lighting was instrumental in shaping an environment guests could connect with and enjoy, balancing the functional needs of the spaces with the creative, immersive experience. We are incredibly proud to have our work recognized with these awards." Image credit: Tavistock

As reported by EXP news Nov. 19, EXP is playing a central role in the design of the $100 million terminal expansion project at Pensacola International Airport. EXP, the prime designer, in association with Luis Vidal + Architects and The Walsh Group, will bring world-class aviation design expertise to reshape the traveler experience from arrival to departure. PNS celebrated its groundbreaking on October 15, 2025, marking the start of construction of the multi-phase project. The new five-gate, modern and contemporary concourse will add over 50,000 square feet of additional space, with elevated dining options, upgraded and accessible restrooms, and comfortable seating. The design is shaped by the sun and inspired by the dunes. "Pensacola International Airport continues to grow as a key gateway to the Gulf Coast, and this expansion is critical to ensuring we provide the best possible experience for our travelers," PNS Executive Airport Director Matt Coughlin said. In alignment with the airport's master plan, the expansion will support continued growth and serve as a vital step toward meeting current and future traveler demands. EXP selected to assess and analyze residential properties in Miami-Dade County for resiliency, energy efficiency and future renovations.

EXP selected to assess and analyze residential properties in Miami-Dade County for resiliency, energy efficiency and future renovations. September 8, 2026 Miami-Dade County has contracted EXP to evaluate 33 multi-family properties, totaling approximately 1,741 housing units. As the prime consultant, EXP will deliver a complete resilience assessment, energy assessment and Integrated Physical Needs Assessment (IPNA), in addition to as-needed architecture and engineering services. These historic properties are classified as affordable housing and support lower-income communities in the Miami area. The structures range from 20-50 years old and may require certain repairs or replacements to address aging building systems and ensure resident safety and comfort. Over the course of 18 months, its experts will conduct the assessments through innovative technologies such as Matterport 3D and LiDAR. EXP will also develop a digital dashboard and toolkit to help Miami-Dade efficiently track property conditions, assessment findings, risks and recommended improvements across the housing portfolio. This platform will support data-driven decision making, prioritize rehabilitation needs and inform short- and long-term capital planning strategies. "These assessments support the health and well-being of the community," Miami-Dade County Housing and Community Development (HCD) Resiliency Program Manager Ryan Radmehr, ENV SP said. "It's essential to establish a standardized process for evaluating structural integrity, making the recommended improvements and maintaining quality living conditions." "At EXP, we utilize assessment strategies that identify opportunities to reduce maintenance and operational expenses through energy efficient infrastructure," Project Manager and Director, Living and Learning Division Haleh Moghaddasi, Ph.D., Assoc. AIA, LEED GA, ENV SP said. "Exp Global Inc. is proud to contribute to resiliency projects that further its partnership with the Miami Dade-County HCD board and community. The assessment process is expected to start later in 2026.
