Requirements
  • Be an English-qualified lawyer.
  • Have at least 1–2 years of post-qualification experience and demonstrated local experience assisting business clients with a variety of construction matters.
  • Demonstrate business acumen and provide pragmatic legal support focused on key legal risks and client priorities.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Prioritise effectively and work productively.
  • Adapt quickly to new concepts and improve continuously.
  • Provide client-focused legal support and service.
Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, including JCT build-only and design-and-build contracts, NEC contracts, design consultancy agreements, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Advise clients on contract procurement strategies.
  • Assist with contractual claims, including changes and extensions of time, and advise on contract interpretation.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance matters, including the Construction Act, adjudications, the Building Safety Act, and the CDM Regulations.
  • Find commercial solutions for clients to avoid disputes.
  • Assist the disputes team with construction disputes, adjudications, and litigation.
  • Contribute to team and business growth through articles, external webinars, and internal LV Academy training sessions.
  • Work with Practice Leaders and Senior Associates, help train graduates, and support the construction practice.
