Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent GED, plus 3–5 years of experience in the construction trades.
  • Inspection-related certification such as CWI or CPWI is accepted.
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as a Gal-Gauge, Pick Gauge, Hi-Lo gauge, and Filler Gauge.
  • Ability to read and interpret ISO drawings and P&IDs, and red-line ISO drawings.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures.
  • Required exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline/oil/gas, industrial, and welding activities.
  • Ability to independently perform piping system walkdowns, structural walkdowns, and civil inspections.
  • Ability to write daily reports and document project activities.
  • Ability to effectively collect and record field data to verify conformance with corporate quality-control procedures and ensure effective implementation of the quality-control program for assigned project tasks.
  • Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working at a computer, stand for extended periods, walk property and laydown yards, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Promote and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of work performed during daily construction activities, including excavations, concrete, rebar, welding, piping, valves, and other equipment.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the construction codes used for the project.
  • Organize, plan, and manage time effectively.
  • Conduct daily activities in an organized manner to ensure all quality-control data is accurately recorded.
  • Monitor and record work daily as required by the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP).
  • Prevent deficiencies through pre-construction quality-control inspections in close coordination with field operating teams.
  • Detect deficiencies and address them in a timely and effective manner.
  • Inspect work and establish punch lists.
  • Ensure daily quality-task schedules are met in support of the project schedule.
  • Work with the client and field quality staff as their field representative, ensuring construction teams understand and follow quality-assurance and quality-control requirements.
  • Interface with field supervision to maintain open communication.
  • Interact cross-functionally with craft personnel and other team members.
  • Maintain complete and accurate inspection records for transfer to permanent hard-copy and/or electronic files.
  • Determine the calibration status of measuring and test equipment.
  • Generate daily and weekly reports of conditions found during inspections, notify management of significant problems, and complete documentation attesting to satisfactory inspection or test completion.
