Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of documentation and the interpretation and application of regulations and performance improvement standards.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and federal guidelines for hospice services, including OSHA regulations.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams and mentoring team members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively as a confident presenter and persuasive speaker, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, with strong follow-up skills.
  • Professional judgment and strong problem-resolution skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in Nursing is required; an active registered nurse license is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of previous managerial experience, including 5 years in the hospice or home health service industry for a certified agency, is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and automobile liability insurance coverage are required.
  • An unencumbered and active registered nurse license in the state of residence is required.
  • Computer skills including solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Basic PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience using reporting tools and databases to review data in electronic systems.
Responsibilities
  • Define and routinely evaluate the effectiveness of a streamlined process for TPE education, chart review, and accountability.
  • Monitor audit processes by reviewing results, communicating strategies and process effectiveness to stakeholders, and mitigating future audit risks.
  • Develop education processes and plans for office leaders and implement metrics to assess education effectiveness and retention.
  • Integrate a sustainability framework to embed improvements and best practices into daily operations.
  • Conduct routine root cause analysis to identify factors contributing to office risk.
  • Ensure audit-risk education, audit-process education, and root-cause investigation results are clearly communicated to relevant staff.
  • Supervise the Director of Clinical Quality.
  • Review current standard operating procedures and implement proactive strategies to prevent additional TPE and increase impact in Rounds 1 and 2.
  • Ensure ongoing oversight and partnership among relevant departments for current Round 3 offices.
  • Facilitate high-quality documentation for MAC review and promote alignment among stakeholders.
  • Establish clear process guidelines and periodically review them to adapt to evolving audit requirements and office needs.
  • Develop business cases for technology solutions, including digital tools and automation, to streamline and enhance the TPE process.
  • Review favorable and unfavorable claims and adjust actions to achieve optimal results, sharing updates and recommendations promptly.
  • Develop and communicate strategies to prevent audit failures and measure their effectiveness across teams.
  • Oversee documentation processes for all IDG members and build quality competencies through tools, processes, feedback mechanisms, and periodic evaluations.
  • Provide ongoing education to NMD and measure the impact of educational initiatives.
  • Develop and share a communication plan for the sustainability framework through team meetings, digital newsletters, and training sessions.
  • Provide progress updates, highlight success stories, and solicit feedback to support shared responsibility and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor existing processes, staff development, and accountability for sustained documentation education.
  • Use analysis findings to inform targeted education and implement proactive risk-mitigation actions.
  • Monitor agency-level adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Monitor patient-record compliance and quality-assurance activities.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President and Area Vice Presidents of Operations.
  • Assist agencies in meeting regulatory and company requirements and preparing for inspections, surveys, and reviews, including state licensure, federal certifications, and accreditations.
  • Collaborate with operational leadership on quality, regulatory survey outcomes, and process improvement, including support for unfavorable internal or external survey outcomes.
  • Assist with handling and resolving complaints from patients, families, and the public.
  • Participate in the hospice quality assessment and performance improvement program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
  • A registered nurse credential is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of previous managerial experience, including 5 years in the hospice or home health service industry for a certified agency, is preferred.
  • Experience with Homecare Homebase.
