Simplify Jobs

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Learners earn while qualifying: Standard Bank combines a monthly stipend with a formal SAQA-accredited qualification.
  • Graduates receive ongoing guidance: Standard Bank gives programme participants access to mentors, coaches and on-the-job development.
  • Further study receives support: education funding and professional certification assistance are among benefits that vary by location.

What critics are saying

  • A learnership is not a permanent-job offer: Standard Bank requires graduates of that programme to apply through recruitment.
  • Some operations roles are onsite: the Nairobi equity-operations vacancy is marked neither remote nor hybrid.
  • Settlement work has strict controls: the Nairobi equity-operations officer must process securities accurately and prevent operational losses.

What makes Standard Bank Group unique

  • African coverage is extensive: Standard Bank lists operations in 21 sub-Saharan countries, four global centres and two offshore hubs.
  • Banking has a developer channel: Standard Bank operates a dedicated API Marketplace.
  • China trade has a banking partner: Standard Bank works with ICBC on Africa-China market connections.
