- Graduation from an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- A New York State Nuclear Medicine License from the New York State Department of Health.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, patients’ families, physicians, and other health care providers while performing Nuclear Medicine exams.
- Analytical skills to evaluate and perform Nuclear Medicine exams.
- Handle, prepare, assay, administer, and dispose of sensitive radiopharmaceuticals.
- Perform quality control and follow aseptic technique standards to ensure patient and colleague safety.
- Maintain records of receipt for all radiopharmaceuticals to ensure compliance with Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology examinations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- Previous experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Previous experience in Nuclear Cardiology.
- Positron emission tomography experience.
