JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a candidate for a Research Technologist in the laboratory of Prof. Song Tan in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• express proteins and protein complexes in E. coli
• purify proteins, protein complexes and protein/DNA complexes using low pressure and high performance chromatography
• analyze proteins and protein/DNA complexes by electrophoresis, spectroscopy, immunoassays and enzyme activity assays
• maintain written and electronic laboratory records
• assist with ordering laboratory supplies
• maintain laboratory equipment
This position requires a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in biological science, chemistry or physics.
This is a term position funded for one year from date of hire with the possibility of refunding.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$34,800.00 - $50,500.00
