Requirements
  • 15+ years of dedicated experience in identity security, security architecture, or infrastructure engineering within high-growth startups, hyperscale cloud environments, or elite security teams.
  • A demonstrated track record of architecting and operating modern, zero-trust identity infrastructure at scale, including hardware-backed authentication, just-in-time credentialing, and workload identity systems.
  • Hands-on experience securing identity and access management boundaries across AWS and Google Cloud Platform and containerized environments, including Kubernetes identity federation and IAM roles for service accounts.
  • Practical experience building and operating privileged access management systems for large-scale compute environments, including GPU cluster access in cloud or neocloud contexts.
  • Prior experience partnering with detection and response teams to instrument identity telemetry and build adversary-focused detection logic targeting identity-layer attack techniques.
  • Deep, first-principles understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Security Assertion Markup Language, WebAuthn/FIDO2, and public key infrastructure.
  • Strong software engineering capability in Go, Python, or Rust for custom tooling, API integrations, and automation.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or PulUMI for defining and managing identity constructs programmatically.

Nvidia eyes $25B Reflection AI takeover to counter Chinese AI models.

Nvidia eyes $25B Reflection AI takeover to counter Chinese AI models. 2026-10-11 10:43:56 Key takeaways. * Nvidia is exploring a takeover of Reflection AI, valued at approximately $25 billion, considering full acquisition or acqui-hire options. * Nvidia has already invested approximately $800 million in Reflection AI and trained its Beam model using thousands of GB300 GPUs. * Reflection AI unveiled Beam on October 5, containing 501 billion total parameters activating only 23 billion during inference. Nvidia is exploring a takeover of Reflection AI, a fast-growing artificial intelligence startup valued at approximately $25 billion. The chipmaker is considering options including a full acquisition, additional investment, or an arrangement to hire Reflection's researchers and license its technology, though discussions remain preliminary with no agreement reached. The potential deal comes just days after Reflection unveiled a powerful new AI model designed to compete with Chinese systems from DeepSeek, Alibaba, and Moonshot AI, marking Nvidia's push to expand influence beyond hardware into advanced AI model development. Nvidia explores multiple acquisition structures for Reflection AI. Nvidia is already one of Reflection AI's largest financial backers, having reportedly invested approximately $800 million in the startup. The company is considering several transaction structures, including a full acquisition, additional investment, or an acqui-hire arrangement that would allow Nvidia to recruit Reflection's researchers and license its technology without acquiring the entire company. Reflection AI was founded in 2024 by former Google DeepMind researchers Misha Laskin and Ioannis Antonoglou. The startup has attracted significant investor attention while developing open-weight AI systems that businesses can customize and deploy independently. The company was seeking new financing at a $25 billion pre-money valuation earlier this year, representing its fundraising ambitions rather than a publicly confirmed takeover offer. Nvidia used a comparable acqui-hire approach in its $20 billion arrangement with Groq, although that transaction has since faced legal challenges from some shareholders. Reflection AI unveils 501-billion-parameter Beam model on October 5. Reflection AI introduced its new AI model, Beam, on October 5. According to Reflection's announcement, Beam contains 501 billion total parameters but activates only 23 billion during inference, potentially reducing the computing resources needed to perform complex tasks. The company states that Beam competes with China's GLM-5.2 and approaches Alibaba's Qwen 3.8-Max in coding and agent-based workloads, although those comparisons rely on the startup's published benchmarks. Reflection trained the model using thousands of Nvidia GB300 GPUs, making its technology closely connected to Nvidia's hardware ecosystem. A deeper partnership could strengthen Nvidia's presence in software while supporting American alternatives to increasingly competitive Chinese open-weight AI models. The potential expansion also comes while Nvidia's China chip sales remain constrained by regulatory and commercial restrictions. Faq. What is Nvidia considering regarding Reflection AI? West's open-source AI race heats up as Nvidia-backed Reflection AI and Mistral challenge Chinese dominance

The race among Western firms to lead in open-source AI intensified this week, with Nvidia-backed Reflection AI and French lab Mistral unveiling new models aimed at challenging China's dominance in the space. Reflection's Beam and Mistral's Le Chonk trail top Chinese models and closed systems from OpenAI and Anthropic on key benchmarks. However, both companies claim their offerings outperform other Western open-source alternatives from firms like Thinking Machines and Nvidia. Reflection CEO Misha Laskin said his target market includes heavily regulated industries and governments that cannot use Chinese models. The timing aligns with year-end budget reviews showing significant AI spending increases. The success of these Western open-source players hinges on whether organisations will accept less advanced models for certain tasks in exchange for lower costs and greater control.
