Basic reading, writing, and computer skills sufficient to complete periodic online training.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Ability to pass a pre-employment Department of Transportation drug test.
Ability to learn when to use personal protective equipment and identify the appropriate types for each task.
Responsibilities
Maintain overall safety of the dock.
Aid in the safety of all coworkers.
Inform the dock supervisor of unsafe or hazardous conditions.
Report hazardous or unsafe conditions and make corrections when able.
Perform routine housekeeping duties and clean as work progresses.
Participate in all drills and safety meetings.
Learn and perform assigned duties in emergency situations.
Perform duties assigned by the dock supervisor, including assisting other teams as needed.

This list is not exhaustive. Dockhands are expected to perform any duties required of them by the Supervisor of the dock to which they are assigned, and those duties may include assisting other teams at EMS as needed.
