Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience winning IT solutions, specifically Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise IT, Cloud Migration, Cybersecurity, Software Development, Data Server Consolidation, and IT Modernization.
  • A track record of success winning $50 million to $100 million or more single-award business development and capture opportunities, including at least one win in the previous two to three years and one win of $50 million or more.
  • Recent experience in market analysis and strategic business planning, including identification, qualification, and capture leading to award and delivery of major programs.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the Federal procurement process, current acquisition trends, and customer buying behaviors.
  • Strong presentation and proposal writing skills.
  • Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams with varying levels of experience.
  • Ability to support multiple captures simultaneously based on anticipated request-for-proposal release dates.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Organization and time-management skills and a strong sales presence.
  • Sound business judgment, conceptual skills, intellectual discipline, self-confidence, imagination, and well-developed management skills.
  • Ability to travel as business dictates.
  • A four-year degree from an accredited university.

Responsibilities
  • Lead captures for new growth opportunities and re-competitions while adhering to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Lead strategic capture activities for assigned pursuits and inspire confidence in pursuit teams under stress.
  • Provide leadership on major business development and capture efforts from win-strategy development through post-submission phases.
  • Brief business development and capture status to senior management at specified milestones.
  • Direct plans and activities that support business development, revenue, growth, profit, and long-term business objectives.
  • Develop and implement the overall capture plan, strategy, and internal and external partnerships.
  • Meet with customers and identify their needs and concerns.
  • Develop a Shipley competitive model.
  • Lead and facilitate win-strategy development sessions covering technical, management, teaming, past performance, staffing, and pricing.
  • Align marketing intelligence with the win strategy.
  • Lead competitive assessments, teaming, and price-to-win efforts.
  • Analyze competitors’ trends and weaknesses to identify, qualify, and coordinate bid targets.
  • Develop and implement winning strategies that highlight strengths and mitigate weaknesses.
  • Motivate and energize teams to produce winning solutions.
  • Work with the proposal team to develop differentiated proposals that clearly explain why Akima is the right choice.
  • Work with the team to enhance win strategy and win rates, anticipate problems and customer needs, and position Akima to win large-scale opportunities.
