Requirements
  • A clear understanding of and experience winning information technology solutions, specifically enterprise architecture, enterprise information technology, cloud migration, cybersecurity, software development, data server consolidation, and information technology modernization.
  • Recent experience in market analysis and strategic business planning, including identifying, qualifying, and capturing opportunities through award and delivery of major programs.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the federal procurement process, current acquisition trends, and customer buying behaviors.
  • Strong presentation and proposal writing skills.
  • Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams with varying levels of experience.
  • Ability to support multiple captures simultaneously based on anticipated request for proposal release dates.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Organization and time-management skills, along with a strong sales presence.
  • Ability to travel as business dictates.
  • Sound business judgment, strong conceptual skills, intellectual discipline, self-confidence, imagination, well-developed management skills, and ambition to contribute significantly to company growth and success.

Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic capture activities for all assigned pursuits and provide the executive presence required to lead and inspire pursuit teams under stress.
  • Provide critical leadership on major business development and capture efforts from win-strategy development through post-submission phases.
  • Brief business development and capture status to senior management at specified milestones in the capture process.
  • Direct plans and activities that support business development and increase revenue, growth, and profit in support of long-term strategy and business objectives.
  • Assist with, develop, and implement the overall capture plan, strategy, and internal and external partnerships by thinking strategically about the business, meeting with customers, and asking relevant questions.
  • Understand and develop a Shipley competitive model.
  • Lead and facilitate win-strategy development sessions covering technical, management, teaming, past performance, staffing, pricing, and related areas.
  • Lead development of customer hot buttons, including customer needs and concerns.
  • Align marketing intelligence with the win strategy.
  • Lead competitive assessments, teaming, and price-to-win efforts.
  • Explain and apply knowledge of competitor trends and weaknesses to identify, qualify, and coordinate bid targets.
  • Develop and implement winning strategies that highlight strengths and mitigate weaknesses.
  • Motivate and energize a differentiated team to produce a winning solution.
  • Work with the proposal team to develop a differentiated proposal that communicates a clear and compelling rationale for choosing Akima.
  • Use both a broad strategic perspective and a hands-on capture approach.
  • Work with the group management team to enhance win strategy and win rates, anticipate problems and customer needs, and position Akima to win large-scale opportunities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with Department of Defense customers and federal civilian agencies.
  • Experience winning $50 million to $100 million or more single-award business development and capture opportunities, including at least one win in the previous two to three years and one win of $50 million or more.
