Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program.
  • Completion of an accredited vocational school of nursing program.
  • Knowledge of standard software applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must be a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to travel to various work site locations.
Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing services to patients according to protocol, including administering treatment for minor injuries or illnesses, administering injections and venipuncture, dispensing medication, and collecting sputum.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records according to protocol.
  • Follow up on injured, ill, or delinquent patients.
  • Screen and investigate contacts according to procedure.
  • Provide and deliver medications as needed and monitor drug compliance.
  • Schedule patients by treatment regimen and maintain call-back files.
  • Educate patients on disease transmission and compliance with prescribed treatment.
  • Communicate with patients and family members according to protocol.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
