Requirements
  • Strong machine learning background, especially LLM post-training (SFT, RLHF, PPO/GRPO, LoRA)
  • Strong Python and PyTorch proficiency
  • Experience creating reinforcement learning environments or automated evaluations
  • Comfort with Docker and containerized development workflows
  • Ability to write robust automated test/verification code
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement agentic benchmark tasks on machine learning topics (e.g., fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, evaluation pipelines).
  • Tasks must be challenging for frontier LLMs (e.g., GPT-5.6, Claude Fable 5) while remaining verifiably solvable. Target solve rates will be discussed.
  • Tasks must be specified using the Harbor framework, including a containerized environment, task instructions, and an automated verifier.
  • Tasks must be realistic implementation tasks situated in complex codebases - not toy problems or single-file exercises.
  • Deliver, for each task:
  • A working, reproducible environment (Dockerfile + dependencies)
  • Clear task instructions as they would be presented to the model
  • An automated verifier/grader that is robust to shortcuts and reward hacking
  • A reference solution demonstrating the task is solvable as specified
  • Brief documentation (task rationale, difficulty calibration notes, known edge cases)
  • Test tasks end-to-end against at least one frontier model agent and report observed behavior/solve rates.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the Tinker SDK/API
  • Experience with Harbor, Terminal-Bench, SWE-bench-style task authoring, or similar agentic eval frameworks
  • Previous contributions to public or private benchmarks
  • Experience running or evaluating LLM agents (scaffolds, harnesses, tool use)

Simplify AI runs an online job search platform that uses AI to deliver personalized job recommendations and streamline the application process. It analyzes user preferences and dealbreakers to filter openings and offers an autofill feature for applications through the Simplify Copilot extension. The platform also provides employer information such as benefits, culture, and values to help job seekers compare options. Its goal is to simplify and speed up the job search, improve application quality, and increase the chances of hearing back from employers, likely monetizing through advertising and optional premium services.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • The Chrome Web Store shows 4.9 stars across 3.8K ratings on September 3, 2026.
  • Simplify says it supports 2M+ job seekers and over 100 job boards.
  • The September 2026 extension update signals active product maintenance and compatibility expansion.

What critics are saying

  • No recent funding beyond 2025's $3 million seed limits hiring and distribution.
  • Job boards can throttle or block automation, breaking Copilot across major ATS platforms.
  • Free forever pricing weakens monetization; a platform change at LinkedIn or Workday hurts retention.

What makes Simplify AI unique

  • Simplify Copilot autofills Workday, Greenhouse, iCIMS, Taleo, Avature, Lever, SmartRecruiters.
  • The Chrome Web Store says 1,000,000+ job seekers use Simplify Copilot.
  • Simplify bundles autofill, application tracking, resume tailoring, and job matching into one extension.

Simplify Looks To Ai To Help With Job Searches And Applications

Job searching is a drag by any measure. Entering the same information into applications over and over even more so. It feels like a process that is ripe for a digital update, and Simplify, an early stage startup is trying to do that by combining questionnaires, job scraping, job matching, auto filling applications and help with answering text-based questions in one program.Today, the W21 YC grads are announcing a $3 million seed as they continue to work with applicants and employers to try and build a business model around the idea.Company CEO and co-founder Michael Yan says it’s long overdue that we start applying for jobs more intelligently than we typically do today. “People are spending dozens of hours scrolling through job boards, finding opportunities, and often submitting hundreds of repetitive applications. So what are we doing? At Simplify we’re building what we like to call ‘an always on AI career agent,’” Yan told TechCrunch. He likens it to a Hollywood agent, who understands your career, your background and skills and your salary requirements and helps you find the right match.
