Requirements
  • Typically, a minimum of 6 to 8+ years of industry experience in engineering.
  • We're looking for individuals with a track record of leading teams and providing direct support and mentorship to their reports.
  • Deep understanding of the game development lifecycle, engineering principles, and related technology.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with C/C++ and C#
  • Excellent software architecture skills
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
  • Build and lead a strong engineering team combining internal staff and external developers.
  • Partner with the Leadership Team to drive project-wide decision making and execution.
  • Work across departments to surface risks and remove blockers.
  • Lead with a franchise-first mindset, prioritizing the broader success of the game and reinforcing shared leadership expectations.
  • Manage a team of engineers, conducting performance reviews and regular 1:1s
  • Work with Project Management and the Engineering Department to determine the type, number and assignment of SE’s required to deliver the project.
  • Ensure company coding practices are followed within their team
  • Participate in Engineering Department management meetings
  • Investigate techniques and methodologies to improve the quality and productivity of software development
  • Maintain expertise in the current code base and tools
  • Stay hands-on when needed. Including, but not limited to diving into code to support the team.
  • Directly manage engineers, developing them into strong individual contributors and/or managers
