Requirements
- State or federal registry as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Certified Background Check and Rehabilitation Facilities certification is required.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
- Must meet health requirements.
- Ability to work in a long-term care environment with appropriate technological support.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities calmly.
- Decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of legal responsibilities and functions specified by the Nurse Practice Act.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to residents.
- Deliver assigned delegated aspects of care.
- Adjust resident care to facilitate effective communication with families, residents, and other health team members.
- Encourage residents and others involved in care to express their needs.
- Organize the aspects of care for which the Certified Nursing Assistant is accountable.
- Support the charge nurse in efficiently addressing resident needs.
